SPRING BREAK is upon us. My boyfriend and I wanted to celebrate our 7 month-anniversary by making some homemade lasagna. We found this recipe Online and absolutely killed it. We deserve our own cooking show for this. Watch and learn.
We went on a shopping trip and picked out some ingredients and an onion that looks like triple the size of all of them.
We heated up a dutch oven with oil in it, added the meats, onion, tomato sauce, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, etc.
Then we put together the ricotta cheese with egg, parsley, and spices.
This was a new idea for us, apparently instead of boiling water to cook the pasta, you just place lasagna noodles in a dish full of water for like 30 minutes. Wow!
Omg and here it all comes together. You put the meat sauce on the bottom, then a layer of lasagna noodles, then the ricotta cheese mix, grated parmesan, and repeat a couple more times! Voila!
OH MAH GAAAHD!! Looks. So. Good. I. Am. Emeril. Lagasse. So proud. What an accomplishment. This is my main achievement for the year, now I can go back to doing nothing! Woo!
We started out with a bottle of wine, poured into the “monte ❤ tyler” glass, which Tyler gave to me for Christmas. (So cute).
Had some stuffed clams for appetizers, which I could say we made these but we definitely got them pre-made. Hey you can’t do everything.
OKAY WOW so we killed it, was totally delicious, omg. Love. AND we got to enjoy this gorgeous view out of the apartment window:
Not a bad way to celebrate!
What are your favorite recipes? How do you celebrate special days with a significant other? I’d love to hear in the comments! 🙂
