Week 8 of Bikini Body Guide by Kayla Itsines

Monday: Arms and Abs

So this is the workout that I didn’t finish two weeks ago because there were other things going on, but surprisingly, I loved this workout! I thought it was tough but good and I liked how it worked my muscles. Drop push-ups are awful though, they’re pretty much a full burpee without the jump. I just did 15 girl pushups instead. Well, 4 sets of them. I feel good though!

Tuesday: LISS or HIIT

I knew this was going to be a good workout. I was on the elliptical for an hour. I sometimes tell myself I can go easy for a minute every 10 minutes or so, but I just powered through and only took like two breaks for water. Burned like 770 calories. Not bad!

Wednesday: Abs and Cardio

So, today was interesting. I did really well on my workout and I was proud of myself–my abs were still sore from Monday so I didn’t get through the ab portions as easily, but I did okay physically. Mentally though, that was weird. I kept having thoughts were I was like “Alright so I’m almost 2/3 done with this program. I won’t be able to exercise like this forever. This won’t last. Will I make it to the end of the program? What will I do after? Repeat the whole thing? Will I abandon working out for a while? Try to find something new? What if I get burnt out of working out? Ahhh!”

So here is a little pep talk for myself: Monte, you have almost completed 8 FULL WEEKS of a tough training program! You have never stuck with something on your own for this long. You are seeing results, your body is changing, you have more energy, you are even craving exercise at times! Your muscles are toned and you feel so confident and proud of yourself 100% of the time because of this progress. It’s okay to have a weird day mentally, but just know that physically you’re doing great, and you don’t have to figure out your whole future of exercise right now. Just keep on keeping on. No need to stress out. Just push through this program, and maybe it would be fun to restart it after and not cut any corners next time! Onto the next challenge! You have time to figure this out, and you’ll have a different schedule in the summer. You can work it out then. Just keep going πŸ™‚

Thursday: LISS or HIIT

I felt great today, burned over 700 calories on the elliptical, felt good!

Friday: Legs and Cardio

This workout was tough, but I cranked through and was sore the next day.

Saturday: LISS or HIIT


Another 770 calories burned on the elliptical. I was tired and had alcohol in my system but I knew that my workout was super important and that I couldn’t miss it!

Sunday: Yoga

Feeling really good today, but I didn’t eat super well. I had a cookie that my friend gave me (it was DELICIOUS) and 4 pieces of “Cheesy bread” which is a delicacy in my college town. So I went for a long walk just to digest it. I’m excited to start my next week of healthier eating, I only have two weeks left here at school where the sorority chefs make my food so I need to take advantage of it while I still can!

      1. Thank you! πŸ™‚ I got into it because I had to write papers for my classes, and I was annoyed of writing about things that I wasn’t as interested in, so I decided to find a way to write about things I personally care about! πŸ™‚

      2. Ya most quotes are that I find while I surf net. I save the ones that I really love and post them up for motivating the readers. However I did a recent challenge called 3 days 3 quotes. The quotes posted in that ones are mine 😊. I wrote them as part of the challenge.
